BEFORE YOUR SURGERY
One of our skilled nurses will contact you to review your health history, surgical history, and medications, and to provide you with personalized preoperative instructions. The nurse will also assist in answering any questions you may have at that time.
Please notify your surgeon if there is any change to your health status or physical condition, such as cold, fever, or respiratory problems.
DO NOT eat or drink anything or take any medications after midnight the night before your procedure unless directed to do so by your physician. This includes gum, hard candy, or use of ANY alcohol or tobacco products including cigarettes or dip/chew. Be sure to tell your surgeon if you are on any aspirin or blood thinning medications as these may need to be stopped prior to your procedure. If your child is the patient, please be sure to monitor this for your child and ensure he or she complies with this procedure as well.
You MUST have have a responsible adult accompany you to your procedure and to drive you home from your procedure as well. You will also be required to have a responsible adult with you for 24 hours after your procedure for your comfort and safety. Please arrange this in advance in order to have no delays to your care. Due to limited space in our waiting areas and for the comfort of all of our patients, we do request that you only bring that one person with you on the day of your surgery.
Please follow any other special instructions your surgeon or preoperative nurse may give you prior to your procedure. Also, please be aware that failure to comply with any of these instructions may result in the cancellation of your surgery.

A container will be provided to you for the removal of dentures, partials, or bridgework in the preoperative are. If you wear corrective lenses, please wear glasses instead of contacts to the center.
Please arrive promptly at the time given to you by your physician or preoperative nurse and bring a photo ID and your insurance card to be presented to the front desk at check in.
If your child is having surgery, please feel free to bring a favorite stuffed animal or security blanket for comfort and added assurance.
